Wild Ancient Moonlight White
This tea comes from Pinglin, Taiwan, a region known for its mist-laden mountains, forested valleys, and slow-moving cloud cover. In these conditions, certain tea plants grow not in tightly managed rows, but in wilder, less cultivated spaces where nature is allowed to guide their rhythm. This wild growth gives the leaves a distinct character, shaped more by environment than by intervention.
Moonlight White is a unique style of white tea that sits gently between white and lightly oxidized tea, depending on the duration of withering and the patience of its aging. Its name is often associated with the poetic idea of moonlit withering, though in practice it reflects a more grounded process of careful harvest and slow drying in natural conditions.
What makes this tea especially rare is its wild-grown origin. The untamed growth of the plants contributes to a living vitality in the leaf, often described as a distinctive Qi—a subtle energy that feels expansive, clear, and quietly awakening in the body and mind. It is not forceful, but rather gently stirring, inviting a sense of openness and inner stillness.
The infusion is soft yet deeply layered, opening with delicate floral sweetness and a light honeyed tone. With each steep, notes of ripe fruit, dried blossoms, and faint wild musk begin to unfold, shifting gently as the tea evolves in the cup.
There is a quiet depth to its presence—never fixed, always moving—offering both clarity and softness in equal measure. The blend of buds and young leaves creates a rounded structure and lingering sweetness that remains long after the sip has ended.
Best enjoyed in unhurried sessions, it reveals itself gradually across multiple infusions—a tea of atmosphere and subtle transformation, shaped by wild growth, mountain mist, and time
