This vintage teapot was crafted in the late 1980s by an independent workshop, drawing inspiration from the timeless forms of the renowned 1960s Factory One teapots. Uncomplicated and balanced, its silhouette reflects the quiet refinement that has long defined the shuiping style, where function and beauty exist in complete harmony.

Made from traditional zisha (紫砂) clay, the teapot embodies a material that has been cherished for generations within the practice of Gongfu tea. Left unglazed, the clay remains gently porous, gradually absorbing the memory of each session. With time and regular use, the surface develops a soft sheen, becoming more expressive as it accompanies years of brewing.

Holding approximately 100 ml, the teapot is ideally suited for personal Gongfu sessions or sharing tea with one companion. Its single-hole spout provides a smooth, controlled pour, allowing each infusion to flow with ease while encouraging an attentive, unhurried pace.

While original 1960s Factory One shuiping teapots have become increasingly difficult to acquire, this vessel offers an opportunity to experience the spirit of that tradition through a teapot intended to be used rather than simply admired. It invites daily practice, where the quiet repetition of brewing gradually leaves its mark on both the clay and the one who holds it.

Subtle traces of age remain across the surface, gentle reminders of the decades that have shaped the vessel's journey. These small imperfections do not diminish its purpose; instead, they lend a quiet authenticity that speaks to a life already lived. Three teapots are available, each carrying the slight variations that naturally arise from handcrafted work and the passage of time.
